We walk 2 hours from the inn we got off the carriage at, intending to rest after that

Something might be following us

Set up camp

Mahala Vanedir on first watch

Start rest at midnight

4am, nothing comes close, shift then changes

Vanedir believes things out in the darkness, Mahala is whittling

Whittles the wood away, makes a mini palisade

A glow appears from B'Rock on Katarina's shift

His cloak begins to glow, flashing, a bright purple

A noise from it, a scream

This wakes up B'Rock in a panic, and he summons Calcifer amongst the party

We all take damage, except mahala who succeeds on the save and has resistance, quartering the 2 damage to 0.

Initiative is rolled

B'Rock goes first, and in a panic casts burning hands on all the party except Vanedir who's behind him

Mahala's palisade is destroyed, and she gets mad and hellishly rebukes B'Rock

Calcifer then fires a seed of flame at the one that just hurt B'Rock, but misses and hits a humanoid rat.

There are 4 other humanoid rats around him

Durnivir disengages and runs, bravely, away

Katerina fails to smack B'Rock awake

Vanedir succeeds, and demands the ratmen identify themselves

They fire a round of crossbow bolts at the party

Durnivir nothing-personnel-kids a rat, and smacks it with DAVE, but does no damage because DAVE isn't magical

Katerina shoots one, but does no damage because her crossbow isn't magical

Vanedir heals B'Rock, and channels a smite in preparation for the enxt turn

Another round of bolts, and Durnivir gets bitten, but his blood is so alcoholic that it's natural disinfectant for the curse

Vanedir cleaves one in half, Katerina stabs one in the jugular

Another is cleaved in half, no idea how the 4th dies

The last transforms into a rat and tries to run

Opportunity attacks

We chase and finish it, it doesn't talk despite being surrounded by 4 murderous people and mahala trying to make it talk

It dies, finished by Vanedir

B'Rock mentions in his hysteria, he saw fey of all types

Shortsowrds and hand crossbows on the ratmen

Sorrin recognizes the fey on the cloak - it's a fey woman that went missing, she seems to be trapped inside the cloak, contained

B'Rock can now hear Sorrin as well

Durnivir celebrates not being as mad as he thought

We rest again - Mahala notices a glint on the main rat man

A medallion - a dragonborn claw, clenched, holding a crown that has been damaged

At the base of the claw, a less glamourous crown

The symbol represents Tarloc's crime syndicate

Represents Tarloc crowning himself, crushing the nobility, overthrowing the current power

Alacia is the name of the fey in B'Rock's cloak

One of five, says Sorrin (elements, courts, sorrin's lovers???)

A History roll reminds us that wererats often have large clans, and often form thieves guilds and similar organizations. Leaders can be challenged for leadership
