Session 8 (Vanedir)

DAY 8 BEGINS

We awaken in the middle of the night for the raid on the griffons

The coming slope is walkable instead of needing to climb

We head up the cliff towards where we saw the glint

Mountain brush, half covering an object

Plate armour, dented, slashes into the armour

Blood dried onto the damaged section

Looks to have been forcibly removed

Lots of animal bones

Vanedir scavenges half a lower half of plate armour

Katerina looks for Jewelery

Leo picks up the scent from the armour

Leads us up the slope, gets to a sheer cliff

Katerina fires a grappling rope arrow, 80 foot up

With a 50 foot rope attached

Vanedir climbs up the 30 foot, attaches more rope, and gets to the top of rope

First natural ledge of two

A second natural ledge can be seen from here, with the cries of griffon babies audible from there

A griffon flies at vanedir, scraping against the side of the cliff, but misses

B'Rock transforms into a giant wolfspider, begins climbing

Takes a claw attack from the griffon flying by

Mahala misses a shot, Katerina hits one, B'Rock bites as it flies past

Durnivir starts climbing the rope, gets 70ft up, then jumps off to try to mount the griffon

Fails spectacularly, then jabs a javelin into the cliff face and saves himself

Durnivir climbs back up the rope

Vanedir starts making a din, bashing his shield and sword together to try to attract the griffon

Griffon comes in for the attack from above

Durnivir manages to hit it with an axe, severing a wing, B'Rock misses with a bite

The Griffon crashes into Vanedir, taking them both off the cliff

We both land onto Mahala, Katerina successfully saves herself and Leo the dog

The griffon dies on impact

Mahala and Vanedir both on 2HP

Vanedir immediately heals with lay on hands and a potion

Offers another potion to Mahala

Initiative begins

Big griffon attacks Mahala, Vanedir deflects some damage

A small one goes for Durnivir, two others are descending

Vanedir compels a duel with the big one, chucks a javelin, then it dies to Katerina's crossbow

B'Rock fucks off to loot the nest while we fight the griffons

Big nest, made of sticks, bones, 6 half eaten humanoid corpses

Mahala avoids getting grabbed, then whips and slices the griffon that attempts to carry her off

Vanedir mounts one of the griffons above Mahala's head

B'Rock finds the eggs in the nest are still healthy

Durnivir grapples another griffon

Vanedir gets shaken off, but catches himself on the rope

Vanedir slices a griffon in half

Durnivir beheads another

Katerina gets dropped from 90ft

Lands on Mahala

Takes 33 fall damage

Split, KO's Mahala, Katerina up on 1HP

Durnivir jumps off the 80ft cliff onto the final Griffon, killing it
