Session 2 (Vanedir)

B'Rock eats poison to start

We look around for more clues, gather spider parts etc

There's a concentrated section of webbing in the trees

As we head further into the webbed section

Less wildlife

Signs of fighting and hunting

Trees and plants still otherwise healthy, just web covered

We see movement on the webbing

May be a spider following us

Webbing starts to block our way

We cut our way through

Behind it lies a cave, all the webbing leads to the cave

30x25 feet

B'Rock tries to climb up to cut away the webbing from the cave

While holding a lit torch

The webbing goes up in a flash of flames

Durnivir goes down due to fire damage

Vanedir gets low on health but isn't down

The forest is now on fire

We somehow manage to put out flames on the cave mouth

Some around on the trees as well

We take a short rest, then enter the cave

B'rock takes Katarina's hand, unable to see in the dark

After 300-400 feet, we emerge into a large cavern

We see 5 bodies, 4 of which look drained - elves, halfling, humans

The undrained one is a copper dragonborn

We start hearing chittering, cut the dragonborn free

Dragonborn immediately goes to tear the halfling's corpse free

After some consoling, we get him up and moving towards the mouth of the cave, halfling in hand

We attempt to leave, but we've lost our direction - find a wall and katarina is sneak attacked

Stuck to the wall by web

We roll initiative

Spider attacks B'rock from behind, dealing large damage

Durnivir also gets webbed to the wall

B'rock instinctively retracts into shell, dropping his torch to the webbed ground

Fire starts to spread (slower than before)

Durnivir kicks B'rock away from the spider whilst webbed and raging

Spider is proned

Vanedir finishes off the first spider that Katarina heavily injured

Healing from Bolen

The fire spreads a little

Durnivir splats a spider

Vanedir runs into the big spider after moving towards the exit

Smacks it

Bolen lights up the area somewhat

We keep running towards the exit

Big spider downs the dragonborn NPC

Katarina murders the dragon

The large spider is albino, thinner more elongated etc

No clear body parts that can be removed to retrieve proof of spider, so vanedir goes to help the dragonborn

We all get out, and exit the heat into the inferno that is the forest fire

As the area we leave out is already scorched, we rest there and wait for a break in the fire so we can leave the forest

LEVEL UP

B'rock has birthed a wildfire spirit as he becomes a circle of the wildfire druid

A strange dream approaches us all in our sleep and trances, sprinkling light on us all

We briefly split - katarina and Vanedir re-enter the now burned-out cave to retrieve belongings of the deceased, and confirm the spiders are wiped out

Everyone else stays outside

B'rock starts resowing seeds to mitigate some of his destruction

Mahala comforts the dragonborn, Sarask the copper dragonborn

Within the cave, the elves find a ring, a pendant, 15gp, and some pieces of bone

Leave and rejoin the party with no issues

Is approximately 10pm now

Navigate back to the road, and return towards holrens

Day 3

Arrive by morning of the next

Bardim Bickle is worried for the forest and goes to check

Sarask and the bodies are handled to Simon for funeral rites

We report to Pete about what's occurred

Someone is at the Baker's wanting to talk with us.
